Snavely finishes 5th at Regionals
The Bandera boys track team finished its 2024 season by getting on the board at the regional meet at Texas A&M Kingsville, where junior Sam Snavely finished five in the 400m run.

Lady Bulldogs add to record book at Regional Meet
The Bandera girls track and field team had another competitive showing at the Class 4A Region IV meet, but the Lady Bulldogs came up just short of advancing to the 4A State Meet in a handful of events on Saturday.

Medina ISD competes at the Regional Track & Field ChampionshipsMedina competed at the 1A Region IV Track & Field Championships on Friday and Saturday, April 19-20, in Seguin. While we did have not any athletes advance to the State Meet, they all turned in their best times of the year, earning points for Medina.

Artist Susie Short inducted in Frontier Times Museum Texas Heroes Hall of HonorThe Frontier Times Museum inducted nationally-known watercolorist Susie Short to the Texas Heroes Hall of Honor on Friday, April 19. She was the lone 2024 inductee. Last night was also the exhibit opening of her watercolor paintings spanning five decades.

Briefings from Bandera County Commissioners CourtHaving opened and evaluated five competitive sealed proposals for the Bandera County Annex building project, commissioners unanimously approved moving forward with a $7,347,777 bid from Tegrity Contractors.
Also, commissioners recognized National Telecommunicators Week, and voted down a proposed tax abatement for child care facilities. |

Burn Ban liftedBandera County commissioners unanimously declined to adopt a countywide burn ban, allowing the previous ban to expire. Intermittent showers, morning mist and cooler days have lowered the drought index, which is hovering around 371 to 575.
