Kinky Friedman passes at 79
Kinky Friedman, a frequent and beloved visitor to Bandera, passed away today at 79. Known for his eccentricities as an author, performer, tequila and cigar aficionado, children’s advocate and one-time “politician,” the Texas Heroes Hall of Honor inductee leaves behind a legacy.
A post on his X account states, “Kinky Friedman stepped on a rainbow at his beloved Echo Hill surrounded by family & friends. Kinkster endured tremendous pain & unthinkable loss in recent years but he never lost his fighting spirit and quick wit. Kinky will live on as his books are read and his songs are sung.”
