Ramiro Gonzales executed Wednesday
Ramiro Gonzales, convicted for the 2001 kidnapping and murder of Bridget Townsend, was executed in Huntsville after spending more than two decades on death row.
Gonzales confessed to fatally shooting Townsend, both 18 at the time, and led authorities to her body on his family’s ranch in Bandera County 23 years ago.
A last-minute request for clemency was voted against by the Texas parole board, and denied by the U.S. Supreme Court. Gonzales was administered a lethal injection on Wednesday.
