Pipe Creek Presbyterian Church welcomes two new pastors
Contributed
The Pipe Creek Presbyterian Church has welcomed new pastors Rev. Dr. Rob Lohmeyer and Rev. Elaine Murray. Together, they bring a wealth of experience, passion for ministry, and a dedication to serving the community of Pipe Creek.
Lohmeyer and Murray come to the Pipe Creek Presbyterian Church (PCPC) with a unique partnership, having previously served together in Kerrville. Their journey together not only includes a shared ministry, but also a shared life, as they were united in marriage in 2022. Together, they have blended their families, which include three children and a beloved dog.
Lohmeyer earned his Doctor of Ministry degree from Austin Seminary in 2012, and his Master of Divinity degree from Columbia Theological Seminary in 2000. Alongside his pastoral duties, he serves as a hospice chaplain, demonstrating his commitment to providing care and support to those in need.
“I believe in relational ministry,” Lohmeyer said. “We’re all in this together and there’s plenty of room beneath the cross for all.”
Murray, equally qualified and passionate about her calling, holds a Master of Divinity degree from Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary, which she obtained in 2012. In addition to her pastoral role, she also serves as a communications manager, utilizing her skills to effectively communicate the message of faith and community outreach.
“It’s an exciting time to listen to God in community and respond by living faithful lives. Rob and I get so much joy out of sharing ministry and are grateful to have found such a kind, energetic congregation to serve God with in Pipe Creek,” she said.
Together, they are excited to embark on this new chapter of ministry in Pipe Creek. They share a deep love for people, studying scripture, and praying together. Beyond their pastoral duties, they find joy in various activities, including exercise, solving crosswords (Elaine's specialty), strumming on the guitar (Rob's passion), and fostering meaningful connections around the table.
“Rob and Elaine bring fresh perspectives and an energy to our congregation that is sorely needed in churches today," PCPC Elder Kirk Price said. "Their sermons foster reflection and introspection and encourage us to go beyond our walls to serve the community."
Members of the community and congregation are invited to worship with PCPC, on Sundays, at 10:30 a.m.
