A new business is blooming in Bandera

Earlier this year, Blossoms of Elnora opened in Bandera. Offering a variety of services, the new business provides year-round floral arrangements for gifts, home décor, weddings, funerals and other events, aiming “to be a legacy of love and beauty … spreading joy to all.”
Founder and Medina High School graduate Mickenzi Bowman spoke about how art influenced her at a young age, explaining her appreciation for flowers nearly inspired her to become an art therapist.
“This is a way for her to add some beauty into peoples’ lives,” Bowman’s mother Charlotte Perry said.
After being quoted $3,000 for floral arrangements for her own wedding, Bowman looked into other options. Unable to find anything reasonable or less expensive, she took matters into her own hands, creating her own floral arrangements for a beachside ceremony.
When the wedding coordinator asked if this was what Bowman did for a living, the gears started turning. After Bowman published photos on a budget-friendly wedding Facebook page, a woman in Kentucky saw the post, requested her services, and a new business was born.
The story behind Blossoms of Elnora is deeply sentimental. Named in honor of her great-grandmother, Elnora Delilah Perry (also known as “Granny P”), Bowman said she spent a lot of her childhood with her Granny P, whom she called the “coolest grandma.”
“When I think of the name, I think of the gift of happiness she gave to everyone when she walked in the room,” Bowman said.
